New on the list: Antanas “Tony G” Guoga and Fedor Holz

On Thursday, July 25, Triton Poker shared on Twitter that Tony G will attend the charity tournament and he then invited German pro Fedor Holz. The 2016 High Roller for One Drop winner Holz has announced he’s selling 20% of his £1million Triton Poker action.

Rick Salomon is known for participating in WSOP’s Big One for One Drop events, winning $2.8 million in 2014, $3.3 million in 2016, and $2.84 million in 2018. So far, he’s the only invitee who has not yet nominated a pro to the table, but rumors say that it’s going to be an American high roller.

Four non-pros who have publicly invited top pros are: Dusk Till Dawn owner Rob Yong, Hedge fund manager Talal Shakerchi, Poker Central founder Cary Katz, and Triton co-founder Paul Phua. Yong invited Sam Trickett because he’s a good friend who started playing $1/$2 cash games at his club in Nottingham. Shakerchi was looking for a player who would donate the most of his wins to charity and found Igor Kurganov fit the description. Katz chose Bryn Kenney because he wants to compete with the best in the world and he believes Kenney is the best candidate.

As for Paul Phua (right) choosing Tom Dwan (left), he said, “Tom is the first pro that I ever befriended who had some success in our private games in Asia. I think highly of Tom as a person, and while he may not be a high roller tournament specialist, the decision wasn’t even close. Not only is he a brilliant poker player, but every fan of No-Limit Hold’em loves watching Tom Dwan play his incredible brand of poker.”

The headcount isn’t stopping at 35 players only. Triton’s co-founder Richard Yong is confident to say that “42 players is a very realistic target and that there is a ’10 to 1 chance’ that the event gets 48 players.”

World-Class Commentary Team
It wouldn’t look right if the world-class feel of Triton’s brand is prominently felt only on the tables. The production also must have high standards to uphold, and so a world-class commentary team will be on board.

ShareHand shall provide world-class livestream content.

After missing out on Montenegro, Lex ‘RaSZi’ Veldhuis returns alongside Randy “nanonoko” Lew. Supporting them for the first time at a Triton event are Ali Nejad, Jeff Gross, and Nick Schulman. Schulman is a Triton Champion, winning the HKD 100K NLHE Short-Deck event in Jeju in 2018. He also just won his third WSOP bracelet this summer and just came back from another exemplary shift in the WSOP commentary booth.

The quartet will add their unique style of commentary throughout an intense week of high stakes action. A live stream will run throughout the £1,050,000 buy-in charity event and can be viewed on the Triton website, Twitch, YouTube and Facebook as well as several Chinese TV channels.

One Drop Foundation added as Beneficiary
One Drop Foundation is the newest addition to the list of charities that will benefit from the Triton Million, with 15% of the charitable haul going to the foundation. It’s a perfect addition since One Drop’s founder, Guy Laliberté, was the inspiration behind the first-ever $1M buy-in event.

Other charities benefiting from Triton Million are Caring for Children Foundation, Credit One World Charity Foundation, Healthy Hong Kong (HKK), and Raising for Effective Giving (REG).

Should a ‘confirmed’ player renege on their intention to play, then the £50,000 entry fee goes straight into the charity pool.

Partypoker LIVE – Official Sponsor of Triton Poker

Rob Yong is the owner of Dusk Till Dawn and the co-founder of partypoker LIVE, the official tour partner of the Triton London 2019 festival.

Launched in January 2017 as a global poker tour, partypoker LIVE has since grown into the world’s biggest ever poker tour in just one year and is guaranteeing more than $70 million in the 2018/2019 season.
