Gus Hansen is one of the few high-stakes poker pros who give us a glimpse of what goes on behind the doors of Bobby’s Room at the Bellagio in Las Vegas .
Even though he failed to cash a significant amount that befits a super high-stakes player during the 50th year anniversary of the WSOP (he won $20,200 for placing 689th at the 2019 WSOP Event #73: $10,000 Main Event), Hansen was able to accumulate a stack that reached seven figures at Bobby’s Room, which he proceeded to cash out.
Via his Instagram account, the Danish poker pro from Monaco shared a video of his gigantic chip rack and said, “When you’re cashing out and it’s seven figures, and you bought in for six figures, you know it’s gonna be a great summer”.
Of course, great confidence and reaping good results all the time doesn’t always go hand in hand in the world of poker. Two days later after Hansen posted the above video, he got beaten up on a heads-up match with Daniel “jungleman” Cates, who he then took a video of while saying Cates is “as usual, beating me up – but it’s still gonna be a great summer.”
Nobody knows exactly how much The Great Dane finally took home from his latest visit at Bobby’s Room, but assuming it’s a little over a million bucks, we could all agree that he indeed is having a great summer.
